Spotify randomly pausing following Windows 10 update & Spotify update

Spotify is randomly pausing during playback.  I've used the log-out on all devices fix suggested on the forum which does not solve the issue.

I'm using an Acer laptop on Windows 10.  I've never had the problem until today.

If you experience this after the most recent update make sure you perform a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your laptop. This will remove any corrupted files from the previous installation which could be causing what you experience. 

In case the issue persists after the clean reinstall, check your hosts file for entries that need to be deleted. Follow the steps described here on how you can do that.
