Spotify says it's connected to a different device

Spotify says it's connected to a different device

Today I was listening to music on my laptop and I wanted to switch to my phone. I clicked "connect to a device" and it connected to my phone.
I was listening to music on my phone when I looked at my laptop screen where it said "listening on Galaxy Tab S6".
My phone isn't Galaxy, I have Xiaomi Redmi and no one in my household owns a Galaxy.
So basically, it connected to my phone but it said it was another device.
What does that mean?

Hey @kathleentb !

It seems like there is another device logged in your Spotify account, we suggest you to sign out of all devices and change your password from here.

In this way the unrecognized device would be removed and if your account was stolen then they cannot access it anymore.

ThankYou! Give a like or accept this as solution if it helped :D.

Hey @kathleentb and @user-removed,

Thanks for posting on the Community about this.

As @user-removed recommends, first thing you can try is opening this form in a private/incognito window and creating a new, strong password, as well as visiting your Account Page to click on SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE

If you still see the device after performing these steps, we suggest you head to this help page for more useful tips on how to secure your Spotify account.

Additional info on how to protect your account can be found here.

Keep us posted! We'll be happy to lend a hand if you need more help.
