Spotify won't play anything for me

My Question or Issue

Whenever I try to play any song it says "Spotify can't play this right now. if you have the file on your computer you can import it." When I try to play a playlist it just skips through everything and ends. I tried redownloading nothing happened i refreshed my computer many times and still nothing happened.

I suggest you try again, just in case. Please do it following the steps bellow:

1. Open Spotify and click File in the menu bar. Select Exit.
2. Click the Start button. Select Settings.
3. Open System.
4. Click Apps & features, then select Spotify.
5. Click Uninstall. Click Uninstall again in the pop-up to confirm.
6. Download and install Spotify from the Windows Apps store.

Also, does it happen when you use a different device, like your mobile?

I followed the steps you told me and it's no different. Also I don't have any other devces I use.

In this case please try this: reset your "Speakers / Headphones" playback device settings to defaults. Right click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Playback devices", then select the "Speakers / Headphones" playback device and choose "Properties." On the Properties dialog, select the Advanced tab, then click "Restore Defaults."
