My Question or Issue

When I try opening up spotify it gives me this error.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried deleting all the Spotify files and restarting my computer and it isn't working. Thanks.

Hey there @Ehusch,

Would you be able to share the link where you found this .exe?

Hey there @Ehusch,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

If possible, could you give it another try to reinstall the app, making sure to try the steps below:

  1. Click the Start button. Select Settings.
  2. Open System.
  3. Click Apps & features, then select Spotify.
  4. Click Uninstall. Click Uninstall again in the pop-up to confirm.
  5. On the Start search bar, type %AppData% and hit enter. This should open up AppData\Roaming.
  6. In the new window that opens up make sure there's no Spotify folder showing up. If there is, you can delete it.
  7. Make sure that there is no Spotify folder left in AppData\Local  (or C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage) as well.
  8. Turn your device off, wait a couple minutes and turn it on again.
  9. Download and install Spotify instead from the Windows Store.

If that doesn't do the trick, let us know if this persists when connected to a different network connection. We'd also recommend making sure that your device and its drivers are all updated on the latest firmware versions available.

On another note, could you let us know if you're redirecting your AppData folder? You can also check this thread on a similar issue here in the Community.

Let us know how you get on 🙂
