Streaming podcast to living room receiver

Solved!

Streaming podcast to living room receiver

I typically sit down at my desktop win10 machine, and stream music to my living room yamaha reciever.  This works totally fine for any music I play.

However it does NOT work with podcasts. All podcasts do not work, you click the play button and nothing happens -- the currently playing song will continue to play and then it will stop when the song is over.

Is this how it is supposed to work? I don't understand why podcasts are handled any differently than music.  As soon as I disable sending it to the living room and just use my desktop as the connected device, the podcast will play just fine.

I do not understand if it is supposed to work like this or not. All podcasts behave the same.

Some speakers don't have the option the play podcasts as they are considered mixed media and it sounds like this is what you're experiencing.
