Suddenly mutes and won't unmute itself

My Question or Issue

Ever since the recent Spotify update for desktop, I have had an issue where the song I am playing will suddenly "stop". After checking the app, the volume controls at the bottom right of the screen have suddenly muted themselves and will not allow me to unmute, even though the music is supposedly still "playing" and my laptop system's volume controls haven't been touched. Currently the volume is working again, but as this is an issue which has happened on several occasions for varying lengths of time, I am hoping that Spotify can resolve this issue with the next update.

A few actions that might help :

- Making sure your Win is updated

- Making sure your audio drivers are updated

- Reinstalling the app
