Hey there @mwenz

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community, and welcome 🙂

Just to confirm, do you notice this behavior when you're using Connect

Also, would you mind letting us know if the app is crashing or if it stays unresponsive?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Yes, while playing a folder when I try to use Connect to select the Sonos
speaker it doesn't come on. The folder continues to play on the computer
speakers, though.

The app does not crash, it just won't play folders on the Sonos speaker.

I have no problem playing individual playlists on the Sonos speaker.

For the last several years I have followed the steps below to successfully
random play the playlists contained in one of my folders:

1. With the computer speakers on I select the folder I want to play, select
random play and click on play.
2. Once the random play of the folder starts, I use Select to switch from
the computer speakers to the Sonos speaker.

Here are the things I have already tried to restore the functionality I
lost last month:

1. I Uninstalled/Reinstalled the Spotify and Sonos apps several times.
2. I was able to talk with a representative at Sonos support. They told me
that, since I am able to play individual Spotify playlists on the Sonos
speaker, that my loss of functionality to play folders is a Spotify issue.

Hi @mwenz

Thanks for getting back to us.

Keep in mind that playlist folders are not supported in the current Spotify architecture that Sonos is using. However, you can still play them separately.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.

You can also have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can give these steps a go and submit your idea so that other users can also support it. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

If anything else comes up, we're always a message away.

Cheers!

So, the bottom line is that Spotify changed the architecture of their
computer app so that random play of folders on Sonos is no longer supported.

Thanks for nothing.
