User Name changes to User ID after every update [Windows Desktop App]

My Question or Issue

Spotify Windows desktop application changes my user name to User ID after every update.

To revert back to my user name, I often open IOS application and change user name. It is very annoying issue.

thanks for reaching out !

What you see on your username tab is a generated serial username created to all Spotify accounts.

As like each and every other user you either have used your Facebook profile / email based account to have a username displayed, there's no need to change it each time.

It is presented on your profile, however your choosen display name is fully presented at all times.

In order to verify it, have a friend search your username to see what they see on their end.
