Volume ramp on pause/play as of 4/27/23

Volume ramp on pause/play as of 4/27/23

This morning Spotify was not functioning for an hour or so. I noticed other people having the same issue. After it was back up and running, I noticed something new. When pausing and resuming playback, there is now a ramp down to silent and a ramp up to playback. I cannot see a setting to turn this off. I much prefer the hard stop that there was previously.

Hi @Bibbybidder

To my knowledge, this is not a new feature. My Spotify Desktop client has ramped the volume on play/pause for years, as long as I can remember. I know of no setting for it.

Same here, this also happens when switching to a new song while in pause, wich means I can’t really hear the beginning of the song. I totally agree that it should be possible to turn this off because I find this new “feature” completely useless
