My 11 year old son loves to listen to Spotify, and he has it on his computer, but I use proxy settings to block access to all websites except those I specifically allow. I had added spotify.com to the list and it used to work. Now when he opens Spotify, it says he isn't connected to the Internet. If I turn off the proxy bypass it works fine, but I can't allow him to use the web that freely. What other site do I need to add so he can use Spotify online?
Hey @6-kq_bpotn04n
I'd suggest allowing *.fastly.net and *.fastlylb.net. At least they are needed by the web player.
According to Resource Monitor *.googleusercontent.com is also connected to.
I also hope the spotify.com entry allows everything under that domain, and both inbound and outbound must not be restricted for any of these addresses.
I wish I could give a certain answer, the above is just my experience after installing some odd AV that added a bunch of entries to my hosts file that restricted access to Spotify's web player.
Let me know how it goes 🙂
