Why is a payed Spotify subscription connect to googleusercontent.com?

I just noticed that spotify is opening a connection from my PC to googleusercontent.com. I was wondering, why is this? I have a payed subscription without ads.

I would also like to know this.

Hey @djtb and @wiseger

Googleusercontent doesn't have much to do with serving ads.

Google has many various services running, an example is indexing websites (Spotify album, track and artist pages as well as user profiles are webpages) and keeping caches on them (in the event the original site or pages are lost). This caching likely serves many purposes.
Spotify websites are indexed by Google. They are searchable.

If you search for something on Google, the search results will often have a little dropdown arrow or writing saying "cached" and if you click on it, it will load the snapshot of the webpage on webcache.googleusercontent.com. You can also see the source code of the webpage this way! 😉

Hope this answers your question 🙂
