Have reinstalled a number of times (from Spotify AND Windows Store) and tried all the solutions on here but the desktop app only opens with a black screen, as below :-
This seems fairly common and has been happening for some time, but nothing appears to work for me.
Any help appreciated?
P.S. I've tried running from the Run command with & without Sandbox, and disabling Hardware etc - the app is beyond useless I'm afraid, so I have to resort to web player

What you could try is uninstalling the app in Windows safe mode. This way you can permanently delete all potentially corrupted files associated with the app.
Follow the steps from this guide exactly, in order to perform a clean reinstall.
