[Windows 10] Lyrics Wont Show

Simple, the lyrics will not show when I press the button while using the Desktop App for Windows 10. it just shows a gray screen. I reonnected to the internet, restarted my computer, reinstalled spotify and tried everything in other trouble shooting threads to no avail. Any idea?

I read some threads here on Spotify Community about this issue, let's start with a firewall. Make sure your Spotify is allowed to connect to internet through your antivirus firewall settings.

Lyrics will not appear time to time, if you're still having issues I can inform Spotify Staff about this.

I am using spotify app on macbook pro, same issue, lyrics no longer showing, just a blank black screen with song title and singer/band name in it, tried everything (rebooted, reinstalled, relogged in etc.), searched forums with no success. Then I found out that musixmatch announced in their twitter that as of today they have stopped supporting lyrics on spotify desktop, which is very dissapointing..

strange that the lyrics button is still showing though, they should remove it since it is no longer going to work on desktops

Looks like this same issue now just landed on my end also, I lost lyrics now. Hmm, lyrics did work on my end like 2hrs ago but now blank screen. I can escalate this to Spotify Staff if you like.

Can you guys tell me your Spotify versions so I can add them into my Issue Report.

Like Chiwawa said, they are no longer supported on desktop. Apple competing with their pocketbook instead of features like always. They've gone to Apple Music.

It's absolutely stupid that the desktop app still has a "lyrics" button then.

I'm pretty sure that not everybody in Spotify Staff doesn't know about this yet, it did came out of nowhere. I think Spotify will issue a new patch soon which will remove the Lyrics button from the Desktop App.
