My Question or Issue
Hi, I've never posted a question on this forum but after searching online and trying multiple approaches I'm still having the same issue. I also didn't see any other posts with this same issue.
I haven't had any issues with Spotify on Desktop before, but I was streaming the album "Sing Your Own Song" by Jackie O Motherf***** when I realized that it was skipping tracks. The first two tracks worked fine, but then Spotify kept skipping the other ones and saying "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."
When I clicked on the songs which Spotify said weren't playable, the songs would play, then all of the other songs would be skipped. I tried on a couple other albums, and suddenly those albums started having the same issue. Spotify would skip three or four songs and say that they couldn't be played right now. I tried restarting the application, resetting my cache, or doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of the application. Strangely after I did a clean reinstall, Spotify crashed a few times after the song finished? I've also tried disabling hardware acceleration, lowering audio quality, and even playing through the browser and I kept having the same issue. I don't have this issue on the mobile app.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. I use Spotify desktop a ton and prefer to listen to albums so this is a very frustrating issue for me. Thanks.

Hi, I just tried logging out of the app, closing it, logging out of spotify.com, and then starting the app and logging in again. Spotify.com weirdly still recognized me and immediately offered the "Continue" button. But this time, after clicking it, the app seems to work fine...
Hi, I have what seems like the same issue. Starting from today, when playing an album Spotify skips some songs, "cannot play"... But if I press play on those songs directly, they play fine.
One of the suggestions I saw was to run Spotify as administrator. In that case, instead of just skipping songs, Spotify crashes. Maybe that's relevant, I don't know.
I tried a full reinstall, including a reboot in between. Nothing seems to help. Using the web player right now...

Yup, I'm having exactly the same thing, starting this morning.
Happening across multiple albums - skipping song after song after song, saying it can't find it. But if I play it manually, it plays fine without hesitation.

I haven't found anything which is a definite solution, but I normally log into Spotify through Facebook. I went to check this page and saw I wasn't logged in, then tried to log into through Facebook, but Spotify said I didn't have a Facebook linked anymore. I reset my password and logged in again, and the skipping issue seems to have resolved itself, at least for now. I'm not closing this thread because I have no idea what was causing the issue or if what I did fixed it. Just wanted to let other people know.

Yeah, this is a really weird issue. If anyone else has this same problem try logging out then logging back in. Maybe reset your password too.
