My Question or Issue

Is there a way to make a playlist offline on the spotify windows 10 desktop client?  I was able to download a playlist on the desktop, and after downloading I started to play it.  I wanted to play it directly from my desktop so as not to take up internet bandwidth I needed for work.  So I thought it was playing the downloaded playlist from my desktop, but when my daughter tried to use spotify on her iphone at the same time, it stopped playing my playlist on the desktop.  Why is that?  If I have it downloaded so shouldn't it be playing directly off my desktop and not using the internet, in which case my daughters use of it shouldn't interrupt my use of it.  I searched everywhere on the desktop app and I can find an offline mode like I can on Android.

Hey @megancbray, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

That option is available on the Desktop app as well. Just go to the Menu Bar, the … menu, inside the File section you will find Offline Mode. Just click it to enable that option and you should be good to go 🙂

Have a great day! 🙂

Edit: You can't play music simultaneously in 2 or more different devices, so when your daughter started streaming music on her phone using Spotify Connect it interrupted you on your dekstop.
