can't play the current song error on ANY SONG

literally on every song I have the 'can't play the current song' error. spotify plays like 5 seconds of the songs that I have played before and then it stops and the error will pop up. for the new song it just doesn't even load the cover! I tried reinstalling from the proper way and unchecked the hardware acceleration. I still have the issue. I am 99.9% sure the problem is from my device. Help!

It's a good idea to try a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your PC since this step is more thorough than a regular reinstall. Check out this help page on how to do that. 

If you still get the error message after the clean reinstall, check if your hosts file contains entries that need to be removed by following the steps here.
