Hi there @helo246,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome aboard to the Community! What is the behaviour exactly? Do you lack the options to do so or does nothing happen when you choose them? Did this start happening after a specific update? Please also send us some screenshots or a video of the behaviour, we'd be happy to take a look.
Keep us posted.
Hey @helo246,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Does the issue occur with a different account on your PC? If a family member has a Spotify account, could you please ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way? This will help us understand if the issue is account related or not.
On another note, you mentioned it works fine on other devices, but would you mind logging out, then trying in the web player before re-attempting to log back in to the desktop client to see if that makes any difference?
We'll be on the lookout for your update.
No, it only occurs with mine. I have logged in with a different account and it works perfectly fine. Web player is also working perfectly its just the problem with the desktop app with my account.
Hey @helo246,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info. Would you mind letting us know the make/model of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're currently running?
On another note, and just to confirm, is this happening with a specific album/song, or does it happen no matter what content you're liking to? If not sure, you can check and let us know how it goes.
Keep us in the loop!
I'm using windows 11 on my desktop and the spotify version is 1.2.8.923.g4f94bf0d
It happens with all the songs, albums and artists on my desktop version with my account but works fine on other devices and on the same desktop spotify but different account
Hey @helo246,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
This is indeed odd behavior, since other accounts work fine on your desktop app device. At the moment, it's possible to download the app from both the Microsoft Store and our Web page here. So in this case, if you install the desktop app from the web page, try to uninstall that version and try installing the one from the Microsoft one or vice versa.
On another note, do you use a VPN on your computer? If yes, try disabling it to see if that makes any difference.
If none of the above does the trick, we'd also suggest liking songs by right clicking on the name of the track > Save to your liked songs. We'd suggest you follow the artists of the songs you want to add to your liked songs playlist by right clicking on the artist name> Follow. to see if the same thing happens.
Lastly, since different accounts work on the affected device, if you wish, you can create a new account and transfer all your music from the old one to the new one by following these steps.
We'll keep an eye on your response!
I see, the only viable option would be to transfer all music to a different account.
Also, right clicking to save to liked songs gives the same result
Hey @helo246,
Can you please also check your Windows hosts file using this guide?
