EDIT: I spoke too soon. It seemed to work right after the update, but returned to its incorrect behaviour after some use. Sigh. Please fix this soon, Spotify. This is annoying.

Yeah...same here. Just got the new version and thought it was fixed but then I closed my browser, reopened it and the overlay was back -.- Please fix this!

Updated today to version 1.0.95.289.g342899da and the bug still isn't fixed. You gotta be sh*tting! How hard can it be to fix a bug (again) that has been fixed before?
