Desktop; sort ascending/descending does not work when I try to sort a list of songs, this is not about a playlist or lbrary sort.

Hello again I uploaded a screenshot showing the arrow next to the song title as requested, which as you can see is not sorting the titles ascending or indeed descending. I used to click on title & it would sort the titles alphabetically or by artist. Now when I ask for a song ie time flies I now have to work my way down the list line by line to find what I want. How can I get the sort function to work again. Rgds DW.
