My Question or Issue
Hello there,
I am a premium user, have downloaded Spotify app on two PCs and a cell phone (Android). I am able to play music on one PC (Win10) and my phone (no, not at the same time, this is not the issue), however, not on my second PC (Win11).
I keep getting the same issue - Spotify cannot play my music in the app. I was able to play music thru the Browser app, however, not thru the Spotify desktop app.
I tried everything. Restarting the app, restarting the PC, reinstalling the app, log off and log on to the app, deleting the cache, clean install, disabling hardware acceleration, changing the playback quality... Nothing works. Obviously not an issue with my account since I am able to play music with my account elsewhere.
Have you got any idea how to fix it? About a month ago, I was able to play music on this PC, however, I changed my CPU and MB, however, still, this is not connected to the issue since I have already reinstalled all my apps - Spotify included.
Thank you
Honza
Hey @HanyseGH,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you post a screenshot of the error you're getting? If it is the one I'm thinking about "Spotify can't play this right now" mentioned in the title, then the most probable reason for this behavior are the sound output settings. Make sure to change them to see which ones work, it's about the bitrate and the frequency.
Let us know how that went, so we can give you more troubleshooting advice.
Cheers!
Hey @B0rrA,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
We're not able to open the zip file due to security reasons.
The error you're experiencing is most probably due to the settings for the sound output of your device. Go over the sound driver settings and try different configurations. If you're using an additional sound card, make sure you set its bitrate and frequency right.
Let us know how that went.
Cheers!
I got a new Windows 11 computer and went through all the settings, re-installs etc. Finally I had to install the latest update to my sound control Komplete Audio 6 and change the Buffer settings to 1024 samples. Hey presto it worked.
Obviously the sound card wasn't able to stream. Hope this helps whatever your sound card is.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
