"Connect with Spotify" button doesn't work on website

I don't know if this is something that can be helped but it never hurts to ask.

So chillhop music has their own website where you can like and save a song to your Spotify account as it plays live through their youtube. In the upper right-hand corner of the website there's a "Connect with Spotify" button. That way you can do all of this.

But when I click it, it opens up a new tab on my chrome and it tries to log me in my Spotify account through web player I assume. But then the tab disappears while loading, and I don't connect. Is this an error on the websites side? Or does my web player not want to connect from a website and can only be used standalone?

I am able to use the web player directly.
