Hey @MindLeaked

I suggest checking out your Hosts file for any unwanted entries. 🙂

Try this:

1. open Notepad as an administrator (right-click - Open as Administrator)
2. go to File - Open and navigate to

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

3. Choose "All Files" instead of "Text Documents" next to the File Name box. You'll see a handful of files. Pick hosts and click on Open.
4. The file is opened. You will see a block of text with # in front of each line and might see entries like

0.0.0.0 website.com
127.0.0.1 website2.com

Check for any entries with spotify or fastly in the address. Examples may look like:

0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com
0.0.0.0 prod.b.ssl.us-eu.fastlylb.net

(and any variations inbetween)
5. If you do find any, you can delete the line. You can also add a # in front of the line, that's 'commenting out'.
6. Save your changes. Restart Spotify.

You can also try removing all lines to see what happens.

You can also try restarting the router to wipe out any possible network glitches.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Thank you so much, I tried to see if I could accept as answer. But I couldn't find it.  This worked for me, I'm now able to see my friend activity and go to song radio's.

Holy heck this is the first fix that actually works. Thanks a ton lad.

thank you so much!! I finally solved this

My host file has no lines but I still have the problem.

Yes! Thank you! This worked for me!

Hey Sebasty, I did what you suggested and now my sptotify application isn't responding.

How about for Mac? I have the same problem too

It works!! Thank you!

Not a Spotify employee, but certainly more useful!

Finally, a fix that actually works! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

To access the host file open terminal and type : sudo nano /etc/hosts

Press enter and type your password in, then you should face the list of hosts, try to find the one looking like this : spclient.wg.spotify.com

delete it and press ctrl+o then press enter again restart spotify and you should be done !

Worked for me, i can finally listen to the radio and discover new songs. discover weekly sucked lately.

Man... you are a hero !!!

I did this, not there were no files related to spotify. My friend feed still will never load

Thank you so much! It worked!

Thank you it worked now.

I can't find these entries in my host files. Everything is commented out with a #
