"Sorry, we couldn't load friends to follow" error

My Question or Issue

I have looked through numerous help topics and all answers do not fix the issue, but I am trying to follow facebook friends. I am currently following some so it used to work.

I have tried the following:

• (Desktop) Unlinking Spotify from Facebook and then connecting them again
• (Desktop) Unlinking Spotify from Facebook and then connecting them (via Android app) again
• (Desktop) On Facebook in App settings for Spotify, switching the Friends toggle off then on again
• Uninstalling then reinstalling app

And perhaps a couple of other options (can't remember all) and still no luck. 

On the Desktop I am getting the above error ("Sorry, we couldn't load friends to follow")

On the Android App I click to Find Friends and the Connect to Facebook link moves to another page then quickly back to the Connect to Facebook page.

I have not found an answer in this community, nor can I figure out if there is a live chat somewhere.

thanks for posting !

As it isn't written as one of the steps your already tried, i'd recommend visiting your account overview at Spotify.com and do the following :

- Scroll and click on the "Privacy" tab on the left side menu

- Look for the "Process My Facebook Data" tab and tap in on

- If it's already on, untap it and click it back on

This should "shake" things up with the connection of your Spotify and FB account.
