removal of friends view and "connect device"

so im starting to get sick of the desktop spotify playing music on my phone. while this feature is turned off AND my phone is not using wifi. is there a way to ACTUALLY disable this?

is there a way to remove the friends activity side window? it just showed up one day for no reason and its annoying af.

To disable the friend activity sidebar go to the top menu bar in the Spotify app

View --> And click on Friend Activity to disable the sidebar.

For the Connect feature, this is a way to easily transfer playback between devices.
