ticks during premium playback

ticks during premium playback

I hear soft though annoying ticks during premium playback, like from a bad grammophone record. On all numbers played. Use Windows 7 desktop via usb to Moon DAC. No such problem with Qobuz. Did a reinstallation to no avail. Anybody the same problem?

Hey @tcanta

Could you try the following:
1. turn off Hardware Acceleration (in Preferences)
2. turn off "play all songs at same volume"

3. update your sound-related drivers in Device Manager

It doesn't really sound like a latency problem to me, but I have also done this:
disabling internal soundcard (as I'm using an external one)
made sure my power management is High Performance

Does it sound like that in the web player as well (open.spotify.com)?

Thanks Sebast for your suggestions , I followed them all except disabling the soundcard but the problem persists also in webplayer. Must be a Spotify related problem because Qobuz playback from same desktop to same DAC goes without ticking.

Another thing I could think of is the antivirus program analysing traffic. That may cause lags... in Spotify streams.
You can try and temporarily disable the antivirus to see if that gives any effect.

Another thing that may or may not help is installing the latest versions of a/v codecs. You can try out this pack of codecs.

Just to let you know that pc usb out to M2Tech HiFace 2 usb/spdif converter to dac gives no ticking at all.

Thanks for your help.
