Hey everyone!

Already the end of the first month of this new year 2024. The Community Music Chat Team keeps the good habits and propose to the upcoming artists a new edition of Artists Wanted: Share Your Talent With The Community.

How does "Artists Wanted Edition No 14" work?

• On a regular basis, we (the Community Music Chat Team) will post a thread (like this one) looking for submissions, so keep an eye out!
• Artists participating have to be members of the Community and have a Spotify artist account.
• Artists are welcome to post their original songs and intros in a comment below (only one comment per band/artist please).
• Note: If an artist has already participated in a previous edition of this project, they can submit again only with a new release of theirs.

Warning : This 14th edition is a themed one and songs submitted have to follow the theme : "Imaginary Movie Soundtrack". No restriction of genre and it can be as well an instrumental or a song with lyrics.

The Community Music Chat Team will go through all submissions, and propose a few for the entire Community to vote on. Once the results are in, we'll contact the winner, and they will be featured in our Community blog! 

When will submissions and voting occur?

Artists submissions: from January 29 to February 18 (Midnight Pacific Time)

Community vote: from February 26  to March 3 (Midnight Pacific Time)

Where to participate?

We'll hand it over to you, artists on the Spotify Community - post your answers to our questions in a comment below. Don't be shy, we'll be very glad to hear your tracks and read your replies!

Note - We ask artists to submit only original songs and not covers. Also, artists should not post/embed videos, as we'd like to keep the ground fair for smaller artists with lesser budgets.

P.S. When it comes to choosing the winning artist, we'll give equal chance to the finalists to gather votes from the forum's users; so don't get discouraged if you enter your submission at a later point and don't gather too many likes in this thread.

If a song is selected for being submitted to the Community vote, artists are allowed to mention it to their followers, in Spotify, as in Social Medias. Please be fair with all contestants and support participation with our Community by asking them to listen to all submissions.

We also reserve the right to refuse songs if the song content is in breech of Community guidelines. Should this happen we'll aim to reach out to you and discuss the decision.

The scenes are intercut with vibrant, colorful moments of bliss, where love used to be radiant. "You lift me up and drop me" echoes in both worlds, intensifying joy in hues and despair in monochrome. Starting with Hip-Hop back in the early 2010s, I quickly collaborated with well known rappers such as 'Manuellsen' and 'Liquit Walker'. In 2020, after a music production break which took several years, I changed my artist name to "Andi Nova" including a genre switch from Hip-Hop to EDM. Labels I signed music with: VAVA Media (GANGSTER CITY), Nice Sounds Records, G-Mafia Records.

Neon lights adorned the skyscrapers, casting a glow on the darkened streets below. Against this luminous backdrop, the passenger found solace in the music playing through their headphones.

Is there anything else you'd want to add to help users to get to know you better: My name is Chris Yost, and I am a new artist. My first single was recently released on January 26. I have been playing drums my whole life, and I started playing guitar and bass during the pandemic in 2020. I am influenced by jazz, gospel, and neo-soul music. I enjoy creating music that has an uplifting and soulful feel.

• Describe in a few words the storyboard or the scene of your imaginary movie or series your soundtrack submitted is made for: Last scene of a movie about two friends who met in high school and were attracted to each other but never acted on it because they didn’t believe they were worthy of love. They meet one cold winter day for coffee at a local coffee shop, 10 years and many failed relationships later, and finally begin to talk about their feelings. As the snow gently falls outside, one character asks another shyly “But why me?” and the quiet response is “Because I liked the way you saw me.” The first character asks “How I saw you? What…what do you mean?” And the reply is “You saw me the way I always wanted to be - even when I couldn’t.” The first character smiles, looks away, and then locks eyes with the other character as the song starts to play and the camera starts a long pull back from the couple before fading to black and the credits start rolling.

The song "Shot Of Me" is a Folk/Americano single that talks about taking risk for love. The scene is a bar scene where our main character is performing his newest hit single about the love they found in the bar. The scene is interrupted by the realization of the love felt between the two and climaxes with a kiss.

Describe in a few words the storyboard or the scene of your imaginary movie or series your soundtrack submitted is made for: 

"Tombstones In Your Eyes" tells the (fictional) story of a "femme fatal" that regularly finds pleasure in stalking up innocent victims and taking them home to her apartment to do unspeakable things to them. As the songs intro begins to play, the viewer sees a wide angle shot of dimly lit, crowded-with-junk apartment. It is obviously already late evening and it is getting darker outside. The song lyrics start and the first verse begins - in the corner of the apartment you see a woman waking up, leaving her bed, heading to her wardrobe looking for something suitable to wear on her weekends night out. The camera comes closer to her as the viewer slowly gets the feeling that something isn't right. The camera then follows her walk through a big city to a nightclub, where she stalks her fellow club-goers. After having selected a suitable victim, a faceless person, the rest of the songs plays to a dreamlike scene where you see the two of them walking back to the apartment and finally the protagonist (or antagonist for that matter) going back to bed with blood smeared hands and a big smile on her face.

A big part of my music comes directly from - or is inspired on - my dreams. I have written these down for years and have gathered hundreds of them. Some of my dreams contain music. In fact, this is what got me back into making music. I had a dream with a song in it, and just had to to transfer it from the imaginary to the real world. This resulted in my first release. My music a mix of different styles from all over the world. All with a cinematic feel to it. Recording is always done in collaboration with other musicians, so Mudbard could also be viewed as a band with different members on each song.

Waves gently crash against the shore as palm trees sway in the breeze. A couple strolls hand in hand along the beach, their silhouettes framed against the stunning backdrop of the setting sun. The soft melodies of the song "HOPELESS LOVER" fill the air, setting the scene for a romantic evening.

  As they walk, they share laughter and stolen glances, their connection palpable. They pause to watch the colors of the sky deepen, the vibrant hues mirroring the intensity of their feelings for each other.
