Hello everyone!
It's that time of the year. The Community Music Chat Team is back, and once again is looking for upcoming artists to submit their new releases for the Eighteenth Edition of Artists Wanted: Share Your Talent With The Community.
How does "Artists Wanted Edition No 18" work?
Questions artists should answer to participate
Post your answers in a comment below to participate!
The Community Music Chat Team will go through all submissions, and propose a few for the entire Community to vote on. Once the results are in, we'll contact the winner, and they will be featured in our Community blog!
When will submissions and voting occur?
Artists submissions: from December 8th to January 11th (Midnight Pacific Time)
Community vote: from January 26th to February 1st (Midnight Pacific Time)
Where to participate?
We'll hand it over to you, artists on the Spotify Community - post your answers to our questions in a comment below. Don't be shy, we'll be very glad to hear your tracks and read your replies!
Note - We ask artists to submit only original songs and not covers. Also, artists should not post/embed videos, as we'd like to keep the ground fair for smaller artists with lesser budgets.
P.S. When it comes to choosing the winning artist, we'll give equal chance to the finalists to gather votes from the forum's users; so don't get discouraged if you enter your submission at a later point and don't gather too many likes in this thread.
If a song is selected for being submitted to the Community vote, artists are allowed to mention it to their followers, in Spotify, as in Social Medias. Please be fair with all contestants and support participation with our Community by asking them to listen to all submissions.
We also reserve the right to refuse songs if the song content is in breach of Community guidelines. Should this happen we'll aim to reach out to you and discuss the decision.
WARNING: Submissions posted after the deadline, or songs that are too old, will not be taken into account.
Some artists have reported receiving an 'Authentication Failed' or timeout error when submitting.
If this happens here's what to do:
great post
Thanks for the detailed information, @Jose_M! This looks like a great opportunity for upcoming artists to share their new releases with the community. I appreciate how clearly the submission steps and guidelines are explained. Looking forward to seeing all the new talent featured in Edition No. 18!
Gday! I’m great deal (aka Lizzy). I’m a bedroom punk-alt-grunge-pop etc artist from Sydney, Australia. I write songs about the human conflicts of self/interior and interpersonal/exterior… I was recommended to submit my song ‘bloom’ by another community member who brought me over here (s/o reddit user iam_tunedIN). ‘Bloom’ is actually based on a word-for-word quotation from an Australian politician who was questioned about whether gay marriage should be legalised- his response to this question is the lyrical content of the song. Link to ‘bloom’ here: https://open.spotify.com/track/0lNXjACj1os3YcYqMo3vK8?si=dFqobKaXTlerUePF-64nvw
Inspirations for this one include pixies, the breeders, PJ Harvey, and nirvana. If you’d like to follow my social media- I’m most active on x/twitter where I mostly repost cats and seals: https://x.com/great_deal_
let me know if you got any thoughts or questions bout my work! Have a nice day/evening/whenever you are!

Hello!! We are mal.x!
We are based in Los Angeles and our music is alt-pop with influences from EDM, Bossa Nova, classical, synthwave, hip-hop, and trip-hop (to name a few.)
Every song we have is different from the next, because we don’t chase genres, we just want to make music that represents how we feel in that moment. To create our sound we use a lot of synths, drum machines, and add in acoustic instruments like guitar and piano.
Our most recent release you should check out is called I’m Not Ok, and it was released this April:
Our Instagram is
@mal.xmusic
It would be difficult to narrow down our influences, but recently we’ve been inspired by Glass Animals, Mitski, Tame Impala, Morcheeba, Death Grips, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Martin Denny.
Mal.x is short for Maddy and Alex, we are married and have been producing and performing music together for the last 5 years. We have a cat named Cupcake, and she will often make cameos in our content. Our goal is to release a new song every month next year! So stay tuned.
Thank you for checking us out!

Anything else you'd want to add to help users to get to know you better: I write songs for those who feel too hard, fall too soon, have five million thoughts buzzing through their heads, feel like they’re always on the outside, a beautiful soul that is just a little bit out of place. For those who are trying to return to our full selves and trying to escape being people-pleasers and over givers.

Fukushima Funk
Geneva, Switzerland
We could fit in new wave, darkwave, pop, triphop, experimental electronica and art rock
Fukushima Funk is pop-sombre, melancholic pop with a good dose of noise and experimentation, with scathing indictments of modern life brought by a strong female voice.
Inspired by our French and Belgian new wave and electropop backgrounds, with a good dose of goth, new wave and industrial.

About: There is so much great music in the world and it can be so niche and subjective; I decided to make the music that I wanted to hear. Whether or not anyone else will remains to be seen, but creation is a necessity for me so I will continue to put out my art and music and hope that ultimately it finds it's way to those who wish to consume it.
