Before Summer Holidays we had a great fifth edition. Today the Community Music Chat Team is pleased to welcome upcoming artists for submitting their new releases to the Sixth Edition of Artists Wanted: Share Your Talent With The Community.
Note : Here you can now know more about the fifth edition winner, the german band, Wir hatten was mit Björn. Below, you can also listen to their new album ON THE RUINS released this last New Music Friday.
How does "Artists Wanted Edition No 6" work?
Questions artists should answer to participate
The Community Music Chat Team will go through all submissions, and propose a few for the entire Community to vote on. Once the results are in, we'll contact the winner, and they will be featured in our Community blog!
When will submissions and voting occur?
Artists submissions: from September 5 to September 18 (Midnight Pacific Time)
Community vote: from September 26 to October 2 (Midnight Pacific Time)
Where to participate?
We'll hand it over to you, artists on the Spotify Community - post your answers to our questions in a comment below. Don't be shy, we'll be very glad to hear your tracks and read your replies!
Note - We ask artists to submit only original songs and not covers. Also, artists should not post/embed videos, as we'd like to keep the ground fair for smaller artists with lesser budgets.
P.S. When it comes to choosing the winning artist, we'll give equal chance to the finalists to gather votes from the forum's users; so don't get discouraged if you enter your submission at a later point and don't gather too many likes in this thread.
If a song is selected for being submitted to the Community vote, artists are allowed to mention it to their followers, in Spotify, as in Social Medias. Please be fair with all contestants and support participation with our Community by asking them to listen to all submissions.
Good Luck Everyone...

This song is from the perspective of someone who's been alone for a while, and that's OK, but they're beginning to feel something is missing in their life, too much space, and this song explores this emotional journey in a cosmic way.
I'm a starting out alt christian singer songwriter. By Alt Christian, I mean I don't stand with the mainstream and most of my tunes are topical. I am open and affirming for our LGBTQ members, I work with my Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters, (and my agnostic and atheist family as well) and I welcome everyone into a loving church music scene. My latest release, "A New Wave Rolling," prophetically remind us that God's Love shakes the foundations of our cherished privilege. "Not a building left a standing and not a stone left unturned, not a heart is left unbending when the love of God returns, and the bells they are a ringing when the prison walls are burned, and the angels are a singing when the love of God returns.., there's A New Wave Rolling."
The late great lead guitarist and spotify artists Rohn Lawrence recorded this at my home not long before his early passing. My good friend Jay Rowe added his masterly piano, and Brian Dunne (who normally plays with Hall and Oats) was kind enough to join us on drums. I'm a volunteer Sunday morning worship leader at a small church with a big heart. This is my sixth release and I've got a bunch of tunes in various stages of production, one due each month for the next five or seven months. All my tunes speak from my struggle with history, faith, doubt, suffering, joy and wonder. I hope you enjoy the tune. Oh, to your questions:
1. My name is Bruce A. Barrett
2. I live in Milford Connecticut.
3. My Genre is alt Christian.
4. Musical style: wow, kind of Beatles meats Steely Dan, but I've got a lot of styles, so I'm still in formation.
5. Musical influences: The Beatles, Keith Green, Larry Norman, Miles Davis, Dylon, Bob Marly, Paul Simon, John Denver, Monk, Duke Ellington, Joni Mitchel, wow, the list goes on.
6. I'm not strong on social media, but I can work with anything. Let me know your preference.

Writing and singing my songs bring me hope and joy, pulls me out of the dumps, and wakes me up to the wonder of living. How can I keep from singing?
I’ll just jump in here, as a total Spotify newbie without high expectations, but passion for music 🙂
A few months ago, I didn't even think about going public with my songs. So, more than albums and releases, it's become a puzzle of memories, feelings or reflections that I wanted to capture in a sort of musical diary.
The song "Verschollen" in particular, is the 2nd song (following “Semijazz”), part of a longer story about a poetic encounter, captured in a series of six songs.
Thank you for listening&reading!

Hi guys! My name is Robby, and my wife Bria and I release music under the artist name "Bria Jean". We're based in Nashville, Tennessee, and we write and record a blend of Christian worship and singer/songwriter tunes. People have described our music as cinematic, emotive, beautiful, and inspirational. Musically, we've been inspired by artists like Brooke Fraser, JJ Heller, John Mayer, as well as traditional Celtic and Jazz music greats.
A recent song that we're really proud of is called "Communion". In the Fall of 2020, our hearts hurt as we saw the political division and racial realities across the United States revealing so much pain all around us. Our hope is that this song will help bring healing and reconciliation to everyone who listens.
In terms of a social media handle, I'll direct you all to http://instagram.com/itsbriajean. I know it probably doesn't qualify for the contest, but yesterday we spontaneously wrote and filmed a hilarious, quick video called "Jesus and Spotify" that you can watch on our Instagram. I hope it gives you a chuckle!
