Can I get the student discount on a current subscription?

I've been using Spotify premium for over 3 years, and upon noticing the student discount option, I wanted to switch to it and save some money (I'm in my 3rd year of College, so the money struggle is real). However, it keeps telling me that because I've got a previous subscription, I'm not elligible for the student discount. Anything would help. Please.

Try first cancelling your current subscription on the account page:

https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/

And then go to http://spotify.com/student to sign up for the student discount
