Cannot remove "new" notifications in the Mac app.

So, the blow horn icon in the Mac app is showing a new notification. Unfortunately, that "new" notification doesn't go away when viewed. Also, I can't clear the list of notitications. The design of that feature is STUNNINGLY bad. Others have mentioned it as a problem and Spotify doesn't seem to be changing it's design anytime soon. 

LET ME CLEAR MY F*CKING NOTIFICATIONS.

Very annoying- solution is to restart the app. Mine went away only then. Fix this please, Spotify!

I just updated yesterday I guess, and at first I had 3 new notifications. Then 10. Now, I have 19. I click on the bell, and the notifications won't even load so I can look at and get rid of them. The spinning circle just keeps going indefinitely...
