Gift Card questions

For Christmas I got $30 worth of spotify gift cards. In my mind, this is worth about 5-6 months of spotify premium (I'm a US college student.) Is there any way I can make sure that Spotify doesnt continue to charge my credit card or will it just automatically take credit from the redeemed gift cards?? 

I couldn't get a good sense of how this works but just wanted to prevent my card from being charged.

$30 worth of gift cards is equivalent to 3 months of Spotify.

Gift cards cannot be used with any deals or discounts, including the student discount.

When you redeem the gift cards from http://spotify.com/redeem it will credit your account from the gift card and add months to your account.

You will not be charged on your credit card until the months from the redeemd cards are all used up.

Also you should check your subscription page because sometimes the gift card will cancel the current subscription and you will have to resubscribe to premium after the gift cards have been used up.
