Gift card code not working

Hi
So i was given a $72 gift card for christmas, however when i tried to activate the code it said it was invalid. i shot spotify an email, however it just directed me here. Im really hoping someone can help with this, as it is a lot of money and a can't survive long without premium lol.

If you reply back to the automated email you got, your case will be sent back to Spotify support and someone should be in contact within 48 hours.
