Artist Top Tracks (no more play option?)

I'm sure in a previous version of the Spotify client - there was an option to play through an "Artist Top Tracks"?  Why has that disappeared, it's a great feature to get a taste of the "favourite" artist songs | or feel for their music.

Can it be brought back please.  (Not sure if this should be an idea - because it's not new).

Sorry if this is a duplicate.

Hey! Welcome to the community :)

Do you not get the Top Tracks of the artist at the top of their page?

Hi Peter,

Of course the list of Top Tracks displays without issue.

But "Top Tracks" used to be an active link (right click menu options - Browse. Play, etc.)

Now it's just a plain text Menu header - shame - can be so much more useful!

when you choose a song from top tracks, it will automatically queue the other songs in the top track.

hmm... I disagree...  my experience is it plays that selected track and then returns to the previous artist or queue.

As an aside this image sharing | uploading malarky seems very complex?  When | where does the image icon appear on the "edit toolbar"?

Re: Artist Top Tracks (no more play option?)

I note the age of your message and am wondering whether there is a newer thread on this. I can't find

it.

Mac OS X v10.10.2 user.

As noted by other users, I formerly could search on and select an artist.  Spotify then would present

a list of the artist's top tracks.  If I clicked on Play at the top, above the list, Spotify would proceed to

play each track on the list, in the order presented.

Current behavior: Search/select artist.  Click on Play at top.  Spotify plays track at top of list, then

plays succeeding tracks from the album from which the first track was taken.  I.e., it does not

proceed down the top-tracks list.

Is the former behavior no longer supported or is there some voodoo I can call upon to

obtain the old behavior?

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment that one might share.

@tggibson

Which version of the Spotify app are you using? With that info, I might be able to look into this.

My Spotify version is:

0.9.15.27.g87efe634

Are the characters after the 'g' some sort of user id?  Just curious.

I'm using the same version on Mac and it's working fine for me.

Have you tried reinstalling Spotify? Also make sure the shuffle option is not turned on.

There is also a new update (1.0.1) rolling out to all users, so you might try it in the new version once you have been rolled out the automatic update:

The g part in the version number is actually part of the version number.
