A question from a technically challenged person. I set up a number of spotify playlists for my wife's birthday. I want to be able to print the playlists so that I can give her the lists of songs. I can't figure out how to do that. Ctrl/P does not seem to work. Clicking on File does not seem to do it. The Help section does not help.
It seems that this should be easy to do, but my technical limitations are preventing me from finding a way to print the playlists.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Another easy tip for those who use artists as playlists as well as Evernote as their organizer app and don't want to lose the results of their listening efforts because of Spotify's mood changes.
1. Highlight an entire album within the artist playlist you created yourself (underneath Starred).
2. Left-click on the first or last song of the highlighted album (otherwise, you'll lose the highlight for some of the songs).
3. Click on Copy HTTP link. Your album is now ready for transfer to Evernote.
4. Create new Notebook in Evernote with the artist's name. A-Z sorting will be automatic.
5. Create new Note within the Notebook you just created and give it the album title name. A-Z is automatic there too.
6. Click Ctrl-V within the Note you just created and you will get something like this:
-Sergio & Odair Assad – Tango Suite: 1. Deciso
Sergio & Odair Assad – Tango Suite: 2. Andante
Sergio & Odair Assad – Tango Suite: 3. Allegro
-Sergio & Odair Assad – Escualo
-Sergio & Odair Assad – Invierno porteno
Sergio & Odair Assad – Primavera portena
Sergio & Odair Assad – Decarisimo
Sergio & Odair Assad – Ausencias
Sergio & Odair Assad – Suite Troileana: Bandoneon
Sergio & Odair Assad – Suite Troileana: Whisky
Sergio & Odair Assad – Suite Troileana: Zita
Sergio & Odair Assad – Suite Troileana: Escolaso
Sergio & Odair Assad – Bordel 1900
Sergio & Odair Assad – Fracanapa
Some of the tunes have a minus in front of them, meaning that I was less than pleased with them. You can work out your own system of markings. These links are "live", but it's easier to do your listening in Spotify and mark in Evernote. Hard to believe that we have to resort to these time-wasting workarounds when we used to have unlimited stars across the system, and that was it.

This method still works, but is really only good for doing a few playlists as it would get a bit tedious if a person had many playlists.
To export a playlist as "just text", do the following:
1. Click on the playlist
2. Click on a song in the playlist
3. Type Ctrl-A to select all the songs in the playlist
4. Type Ctrl-C to copy all the songs to the clipboard
5. Paste into Microsoft Word using Ctrl-V.
6. Highlight everything you pasted in MS Word using Ctrl-A
7. Type Ctrl-Shift-F9 to remove all the hyperlinks.
8. You will have an all text playlist that is the the format of "artist - song name". Nothing fancy, but often good enough.
You may be able to use something other than Microsoft Word. Perhaps even GMail or GDocs.
This was the method I used; worked like a dream. Of course, then the Spotify developers come along with their, "If it ain't broke...break it" approach. Result is this method now only copies track URLs rather than artist and name. Brilliant, Spotify. Bloody brilliant.
Anyone got any ideas as to how to solve this problem (rather than firing them all and getting designers WHO ACTUALLY USE THE darn PROGRAM)?
Searching around for an answer to this seeing as Spotify decided to break the method I used and I found http://spotlistr.herokuapp.com/#/export/spotify-playlist
Amongst other things it can also convert youtube playlists to Spotify ones.

CTRL-A with CTRL-C copys only ONE entry from the list. Seems that spotify tries to prevent exporting playlists to keep their paying members.

And this is the exact reason this Premium Subscriber is setting a Google Music subscription and putting in the effort to move over. I worked around Spotify's weak shuffle mechanism by rolling my own using a spreadsheet and Text Mechanic's web app. It was trivial to select my entire Starred playlist and paste into my spreadsheet, randomize it, then select work-day sized chunks from my spreadsheet and paste into that day's playlist.
Can't do that any longer with Spotify. Don't get me wrong, Google Music will require me to do some workarounds, but at least I can manage it with their service.
It's crap like this Spotify, in case anyone from there is listening.

yeah, i hear you. the method suggested by AbsolutelyNoFB worked great. You can still 'select all' and then drag & drop the tracks into a Word document. It will paste the track & artist fields into a hyperlink but unfortuntely doesn't include the album field. I prefer to keep hyperlinks b/c if you are using this as a form of backup then clicking the link in the Word doc will take you directly to the track rather than having to paste it in and search for it again.
http://estrazulas.com/spotify/ - this app by mestrazulas works great for converting the URLs of all tracks in a playlist to text.
If anyone has an update on playlist backup solutions please let us know. If you have 50-100 playlists it's not exactly feasible to keep a text backup up to date by manually copy/pasting one at a time when you regularly add tracks to most, if not all of them.

I click on that but I am unable to see anything in the box and I am not able to copy any of the tracks on the playlist. What am I doing wrong?
