Thumbs up icon above the poularity bar on album page?

What is the purpose of the thumbs up icon above the poularity bar on an album page?

I think it is just the symbol to identify the column. Not sure why it's a thumb though.

Yea, I was trying to figure the Thumb over that column too...

Does adding a track to "Starred" affect popularity?   If not, I wonder why there isn't a thumbs up/down option for all music played.  Seems this would be useful for Spotify too... Just wierd in my opinion that the Thumb button is only avaiable while listening to the radio feature.
