As you can see from the attached files, pictures are not showing/loading in my Spoify for users or on the Discover page. It does show for artists, and the albums covers also.
I've tried logging in and out, disconnecting and reconnecting to Facebook, but it didn't help. It's been like this through several Spotify updates. Any suggestions as to how I can solve this?
Edit: I'm using W7and a proxy.

@sedatcans: Great! Now it works perfect at work. Thanks.
There, I need to go over a HTTP proxy to access the web.
Such a easy fix - just add an option to an dropdown can't be so hard. 😄
I think it would help a lot of Spotify users that are behind a proxy to be able to select the protocol or be able to enter a FQDN as proxy address. Perhaps even checking for the address to exist.
Seems to me this would be just a minor fix and would make a lot of users at least a little happier.
I'm running Debian linux and had to modify the protocol from https to http and after restarting Spotify I was excited to finally see the album art and images on the Discover page. It took a little of playing with the config file itself, something a user should never have to do.
worked for me thanks!
Win7
spotify v0.09.14.13
Behind corporate firewall
Worked for me too, Thanks!
Worked perfectly, thanks!
I'm having the same issue as you. It's really frustrating and when I look up how to fix it, it's like everyone is speaking Chinese -- is there any way to fix this in English?
That solution used to work up to and including version 0.9. With 1.0.1 I could not connect from behind a proxy at all, with 1.0.2.6 I can but only if protocol is set to https (and then I'm not getting images). Once I change protocol to http Spotify is not able to go online at all.
I'm having the same problem with version 1.0.4.90
When i change https to http there is no more internet connection 😞 any thoughts on this one?
Same here.
Using Spotify Client 1.0.4 for Mac behing corporate proxy. The catch is I can configure it as required for this to work, but there is not a suggested solution.
This is really pathetic, I've read all the proxy related threads in the forums and STILL there is not a practical solution available.
If this is not solved soon, I will CANCEL the service. I don't need spotify at home where I have all my music.
Same here, https->http do not work
Can't find the /Library/App help/Spotify folder on my Mac 😞
I need to use a proxy at my work, so I can't remove it in prefs. Hilfe!
Did you manage to solve it?
Same here, change from https to http does not work, then everthig stops.
No solution so far. I installed Cntlm to create local proxy without password - didn't help.
What text editor did you use to change the file? Using windows. Thanks
I used Notepad++
If it doesn't work for you (seems it's the case with latest Spotify app releases) you may want to consult your proxy provider if there is a chance to use Socks5. It works like a charm without a need of pref file modifications.
Thanks to this message I wondered if I could just go into my spotify settings and change the Proxy settings to "No Proxy" in there, and hey presto! Under the advanced settings/Proxy, simply select "No Proxy from the drop down menu, restart Spotify and ta-da! I now have all my images back, Thanks - this has been driving me nuts!!! 😄
