Spotify won't play songs?

I click to play the song, and the information comes up. But the dot on the progress bar never appears, and it says I have "a problem with my sound card" and that it "can't play music". Is there something I can do to fix this without knowing what is wrong with it?

I would try and update you sound card drivers to see if that helps. 

They are normally available from the manufacturer or you can select driver update from device manager in windows.

I think I found the device manager, but the only device on it was the laptop itself.

You can access it by right clicking on my computer from the start menu, and selecting manage.

Device manager will be in the left side panel. 

It will bring up a list of all your cpmputer components, from the list find your sound card and select update driver software. Windows should offer to check online automatically for you.

I tried that, would it be the "Audio Codec" or "High Definition Audio Device" ?

The sound card is normally the high def audio but i would suggest trying to update both :)

I clicked "update driver", and it said that it was up-to-date. And I'm still having the problem.
