Web Player: please create flash free option and offer HTML5

Web Player: please create flash free option and offer HTML5

Let's face it, Flash is a dead technology. Is Spotify planing on offering HTML5 on their Web Player? It is kind of crucial for me as I'm using an operating system that doesn't have a native standalone Spotify application nor Flash plugins available. Nspluginwrapper is just insecure and hacky. I would love to have a HTML5 version.

Other technology leaders have made the switch:

Google/Youtube made HTML5 default in its exit Flash stragegy:

C'mon spotify, we all love you but now it's really time to stop make excuses. DRM can hardly be a reason. I'm logging in with MY account that I'm paying for every month. I am identified. I am identifiable. I am authenticated. Stream the content with modern technology like HTML5.

Hi! These ideas are suited at the Idea Submissions section. 🙂 Go post it there so the team working on Spotify will see it 🙂

That is rather slick, I am running a FF beta currently and I can now see the HTML5 video player that is kind of cool, on Youtube that is. If protected content holders can get some confidence about the DRM protections, I would not think other services are not that far behind.
