[Account] Change Username

I know this is probably out there somewhere already, but I find it quite frustrating that I was assigned a "username" of lots of numbers when my account was created.  It makes it hard for people to find me, as I can't remember my username, let alone try to get them to.  Can we please make it an option to change our username?  Even if there is a once-a-year change or something...that would be such a helpful thing!

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea.


Your username is designed to identify you on Spotify, so it can’t change.
However, you can now add or change your display name on mobile!
A display name replaces the username where it shows on your profile, app, playlists, and Friend Activity.

spotify is literally one of if not the biggest music listening sites rn and the fact that u can't change ur username or display name is a really big throw off especially regarding music

spotify pls respooooond, even if y’all do the 30 days lock? we just want to change our ugly usernames, do something please, six years waiting for nothing.

Time for some (not offending!) facts (again!)...
(we'll see, if this post will disappear nevertheless)

Age of this idea:  Almost 6 years
Number of votes/kudos: Almost 28 thousand (I guess that's far more than any other idea)
Status: Not right now

Translated: Spotify does not care what thousands of paying customers are begging for for years. Not a single reason is given, nor do we get any usefull feedback on this topic.

Let me share my experience with questions like that during my three years of membership in this community:

I can not say much about the other topics but concerning the username problem not a single question was answered (neither by spotify's staff nor the moderators here) and not a single reason was given why they decided to put it on "not right now". Even private messages to the moderator about that topic stay unanswered - which is the undisputable maximum of unprofessionalism!

 

So this is how spotify treats its users. If 28.000 votes don't make any difference I think you can stop asking for anything here.

So frustrating when one of the best music platforms has the worst treatment of its users and customers.

Finally after so many years of begging & waiting (more or less) patiently we are rewarded with the long-awaited feature of changing the username.

If I get it right, it will be rolled out with the next update: spotify's announcement on facebook.
