[All Platforms][Music] HiFi Quality - Lossless Streaming 16bit 44.1khz

I've just started a trial of Qobuz - they offer the standard 320kbps as well as lossless FLAC streaming (and high res downloads if you purchase them) the sound quality is noticeably better and on classical it's just wonderful to get all that resolution through your hi-fi or headphones! The catalogue has a way to go to get to Spotify's level, but they are getting there. The iPad app isn't' too bad (the desktop app is in need of an upgrade but I hear they are putting all their efforts into mobile apps right now).

So - lossless streaming - if Qobuz can do it then so can Spotify, they must have the same source - and obviously if you are asking £20 a month then those record labels and distributors take enough notice to make the high res tracks available for streaming. What this all means is soon, very soon, we will get lossless streaming and closely followed by high res downloads - but if Spotify aren't careful it will be Apple who get there first with an audiophile premium offering, and when they do it will be a much harder market place to make money in!

I'm delighted to say Lossless is now rolling out. It will happen gradually, to more than 50 markets through October. Premium subscribers in Australia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the US, and the UK have already started to get access.

People...... Just go to tidal. Same price, same content and much better quality.

Spotify have lost the plot, they clearly lied about releasing this and don't care about their customers. I left Spotify 2 years ago and haven't missed it one bit. Just go elsewhere!

Really strange to learn that Spotify have not responded in order to provide a timeline for the most requested feature.

Spotify management team - could you kindly respond and give us an idea in regards to this matter. As customers, we will appreciate it.

by the time they have CD quality streaming. I’ll be too old to be able to appreciate it. That’s kind of sad. I mean not just for me too.

danafrost

by the time, Spotify provides lossless or even CD quality music streaming, I will literally be too old to appreciate the difference. This is not only Spotify but for me as well.

We'll all be long gone by the time Spotify provide CD qualility. But hopefully it's something our great-great-great-grandkids will be able to enjoy.

Sick of waiting can I at least help you test you lossless upgrade. I have patiently waited for 10 years as a premium user and if I have to wait much longer my hearing will start degrading. Thanks

For all the moaners: switch to Tidal or Qobuz, before you have hearing loss.

I have been with Tidal for several months, and I'm very happy with it.

Hi, just adding my part here. I’m a Deezer user but as Deezer recently removed the Xbox app and Spotify has an excellent Xbox app I’m on a 3 month free trial. I would switch to Spotify for the features such as swipe to queue, and the queueing functionality being better if ONLY if had HiFi audio streaming quality. This is the only thing keeping me on Deezer. Add this functionality promptly and you will gain me as a customer, along with many others.

I have qobuz but the app is not a patch on Spotify. The studio quality
stuff is great but there is rarely anything I would listen to and less of
that generally in any qualty. It's so annoying Spotify are being so slow. I
have had all the high end kit I will need for some time now. It's 2024 for
God's sake. They should sort this out
