[All Platforms] "Don't Like Button" should be added to all sections

Hello everyone,

I am not sure why it keeps changing between updates, although in the past Daily Mixes have the Like & Dislike button. But this time around it has been completely removed and is only available Under Your Weekly Discovery.

It would be nice if the "Don't Like Button" was added everywhere, from Weekly Discovery, Daily Mixes, even when searching specific songs, albums, genres etc. to better filter our music preferences.

Also I find on Android on the drop down menu the Don't like button rarely ever works and have to enter the app directly. Like always works perfectly fine.

I would appreciate it if this could be considered.

Thank you

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen!

We're happy to announce that the Hide Songs feature is now available on both mobile and desktop devices for Premium users.

Simply press the song's 3 dot menu and select Hide song. This can be done in any playlist made by Spotify or someone else, as well as albums. And any hidden tracks will no longer play from there.

Hidden songs will also sync between devices - no matter what device you're playing on. Unhiding a track can only be done through the mobile and desktop app, however.

You can also find more details about the feature here.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Cheers!

Can we have this like, right now? 😒

It's astonishing that this is not available. There are a million reasons someone might want to block a song from playing. In my most pressing case right now, there is an artist I enjoy immensely, who made a rather bigoted track that I don't want to hear. I don't want to block the whole artist—just the hateful song.

The only reason that this fairly simple, straight forward, and intuitive feature isn't implemented must be some obscure internal perceived threat to revenue—or obscure contract details?

Please, Spotify, allow us to block/remove individual songs from playing. It's so obvious.

for the love of god just let me block a song I don't like from playing on my account! not an artist, just a song. no matter where it's playing from. thank you very much

Yeah, please fix this. As another user put it:

Don't close cases because enough people haven't voted for them, close cases when you've either resolved them or you won't resolve them. Fixing bad software isn't a popularity contest, it's releasing software that works.

"Case closed, we won't fix this bug because too few people made an effort to register in our community and vote for a fix"

Why should we even vote to fix a bug, it should be in the interest of Spotify to fix bugs in their Apps.

What's the point in hiding a song when it doesn't work as soon as I'm listening via a Wifi speaker?

Whoever made the decision to make the ban-list device-specific should be forced to listen to Bill Withers' Lovely Day for 24 hours straight and then reconsider his position.

Hey @edsox5

Your Idea has been submitted a while ago, and unfortunately hasn't gathered enough votes (180 votes within 6 months) to keep it active in the Exchange. Be sure to know that this does not mean that your Idea has been declined by Spotify.

I rely on my daily's to keep me going but I keep getting songs in playlists that I'm not sure how they even made it past the recording booth, making me stop what I am doing to go play DJ for the sake of my brain cells.  Sometimes it knocks me out of workflow so often I ended up shutting the app down.  Seeing how this wont come back (which it seems it wont given the age of this thread) I'm exploring other options.   I just can't understand how mobile at least has a "hide" feature but not desktop

It's crazy how Spotify still didn't add this simple feature on the desktop!

SussyBlu1

youtube music has this but does not auto skip disliked songs/videos

Did they just nerf this even more?
The only place that had this functionality was in the Weekly Discover. You could select that you didn't like this song or didn't like the artist.

Now it seems you click the minus button and that's that - I don't even know what it does anymore.
