[All Platforms] "Don't Like Button" should be added to all sections

Hello everyone,

I am not sure why it keeps changing between updates, although in the past Daily Mixes have the Like & Dislike button. But this time around it has been completely removed and is only available Under Your Weekly Discovery.

It would be nice if the "Don't Like Button" was added everywhere, from Weekly Discovery, Daily Mixes, even when searching specific songs, albums, genres etc. to better filter our music preferences.

Also I find on Android on the drop down menu the Don't like button rarely ever works and have to enter the app directly. Like always works perfectly fine.

I would appreciate it if this could be considered.

Thank you

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen!

We're happy to announce that the Hide Songs feature is now available on both mobile and desktop devices for Premium users.

Simply press the song's 3 dot menu and select Hide song. This can be done in any playlist made by Spotify or someone else, as well as albums. And any hidden tracks will no longer play from there.

Hidden songs will also sync between devices - no matter what device you're playing on. Unhiding a track can only be done through the mobile and desktop app, however.

You can also find more details about the feature here.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Cheers!

There's an artist I really love, but they have a few songs that mention razor blades and cancer and it would be very helpful if I could avoid random boughts of suicidal thoughts without getting rid of my top artist for three years from all my music. This feature is essential, and it's very upsetting that it has not been fully implemented yet. FIX THIS NOW.

This seems like a bug to me. I deliberately did "hide track" on the lousy tracks in a soundtrack album. When I play in shuffle mode, Spotify still plays those songs. What's the point of the Hide function if it doesn't make the **bleep** you hide go away?

alkemist777

After years of this being a 'Good idea' can you implement this, or stop lying to everyone? I am honestly thinking about cancelling my Premium subscription and moving to other platforms that have this option.

The ability to indicate "Not Interested" on a particular content item seems to appear arbitrarily. The option to mark something (song, album, podcast, audiobook, etc.) should always be available.

5 years later.

If you search "dislike" in this forum you get several pages of results. This feature is more wanted than is represented by this single ticket.

Guys. Listen to your users. BEYOND THAT, use pragmatic thinking. Avoiding "negative" stuff for the sake of avoiding it doesn't change reality. People don't like all songs or artists. Let them express that. It will provide a BETTER EXPERIENCE for your users.

It's infuriating that half a decade after this ticket (and who knows how many others) this still hasn't been implemented. Pandora had dislike on day one, and that was over a decade ago.

I'm an app developer. Pay me to come fix this, I'll have it done in a week.

whys there still no dislike button in 2024? i swear i posted or voted an idea just like this a week ago!

dannybruhphantom

@needforname yer absolutely right! might wanna vote Customize Taste Profile - The Spotify Community

kinda crazy how this was posted before artist mixes, decade mixes, genre mixes, mood mixes & niche mixes were created, also now the homescreen shows previews of playlists/albums we dont even like! im gonna get so mad if i see any mumble (c)rap all over my recommendations but no pop punk, emo or ANYTHING alternative again...wait i already am

PLEASE DO SOMETHING! WERE THE 1S PAYING FOR THIS BULL$H1T!

wildcabbage

I would like this feature as well. Recently in radio mode there's a song I absolutely hate. I tried the "hide this song" feature and it still played it in that same playlist.

We should be able to tell you which music we never, ever want to hear!

ayyyy_lmao

How are your dumb recommendation algorithms supposed to work without feedback from the user? this is so crazy.

in the age of AI recommendations the biggest music platform can't write a simple dislike button in half a decade! how anyone subscribes to**bleep** is beyond me
