[All Platforms] "Don't Like Button" should be added to all sections

Hello everyone,

I am not sure why it keeps changing between updates, although in the past Daily Mixes have the Like & Dislike button. But this time around it has been completely removed and is only available Under Your Weekly Discovery.

It would be nice if the "Don't Like Button" was added everywhere, from Weekly Discovery, Daily Mixes, even when searching specific songs, albums, genres etc. to better filter our music preferences.

Also I find on Android on the drop down menu the Don't like button rarely ever works and have to enter the app directly. Like always works perfectly fine.

I would appreciate it if this could be considered.

Thank you

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen!

We're happy to announce that the Hide Songs feature is now available on both mobile and desktop devices for Premium users.

Simply press the song's 3 dot menu and select Hide song. This can be done in any playlist made by Spotify or someone else, as well as albums. And any hidden tracks will no longer play from there.

Hidden songs will also sync between devices - no matter what device you're playing on. Unhiding a track can only be done through the mobile and desktop app, however.

You can also find more details about the feature here.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Cheers!

I love to use the Spotify’s playlists for moods, like chill, happy, or moody. My only problem is that when I hide a song in the playlist it will continue to appear in the playlist but is skipped over. I think it would be nice if the song would not continuously show within the playlist and different song options were replaced. Also to mix artists playlists together, like Mac Miller with Carlie Hansen sprinkled in.

Any updates?
Internet Explorer admires your speed of operation -_-

No. The generated playlist play the same tracks over and over. Tracks are also 1-2 minutes long. AARRRRGGGG!!

The fact of this missing feature with nearly a thousand upvotes over 2 plus years is concerning.

All Spotify users should be able to control their own Spotify accounts such that a given song that is traumatic for them to hear is NEVER PLAYED UNDER ANY CONDITION involuntarily in their account.

As a longtime Spotify premium customer, I’d appreciate an update on why this is not done or a link to instructions for how it can be accomplished now, if it can.

Y'all going to actually work on this, or???

At the start you said "when it gets enough votes"... when is that?

This isn't even a new feature really; it's a bug in the way you're handling playlists. Nothing else about a playlist is device-specific so why is the Hide broken?

HOW IN THE WORLD IS THIS NOT A FEATURE YET? JESS

Agreed this needs to implemented very badly, even if it's glitchy. They removed the like button and that was crazy glitchy for me, but it was still better having it. Likes & dislikes are some of the biggest features needed on any platform from Netflix to YouTube to spotify. The only reasons I can think of not to have them is 1: (fake)padding retention rates like Netflix, needing to scroll through and see so much you don't want making the service seem better, but I don't think that would be the same problem on a music app. 2: It's too difficult for these large companies to implement? Which would mean maybe a long time before anyone is able to do it well enough to implement.

Either way, I REALLY hope they figure it out but I think it might be another decade before it happens.

This is a pointless feature unless it works on all devices. Nobody can hide a song on their smart speaker.

Ahh yes, nice to check in on this issue....3 years later and it's still been ignored.

I think I've posted in this thread before last year. I'm back because this feature not being available across all devices is annoying me more now than ever before. There's an ASMR list I like to listen to usually as I'm falling asleep which is where I don't have an issue because I use my phone for that. Sometimes I like to listen during the day while I'm on my computer with my earbuds plugged in (yes corded ones) and the aforementioned list has clips on it involving ear licking which some call "Ear noms" or "Ear nibbles" to distract from what it actually sounds like. I can't skip those dang clips while listening on my computer. I shouldn't have to pull out my phone and have to use both and I wouldn't have to if this feature was available on all devices Spotify is available on.
