Cortana integration for Windows 10

I think a very great feature for Spotify would be integration for one of Windows 10's most exciting features, Cortana. For example, you should be able to say "Hey Cortana, play Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne on Spotify" and it would not only open Spotify, if it wasn't already open, but it would also search through your music (or all of Spotify if needed) for the song (in this case, Jess Glynne's Hold My Hand) and play it.

Here are some additional technical thoughts on how this would work:

• The addition of "on Spotify" to the voice command would differentiate requests to play songs from the computer/the default Windows 10 music app
• To help streamline the song search process, the command could/would launch a search through Your Music/Songs first before searching all of Spotify, to help reduce the potential to reduce duplicates and the need to mention the artist. For example, if there are multiple songs named "Next to Me" on Spotify, but you only have Emeli Sande's song by that title in Your Music, and that is, presumably, the song you're looking for, it would search Your Music, find Emeli Sande's Next to Me first and play that.

This feature would make things a lot easier for me, as Spotify is my main music player, and I'd like a quicker way to play songs from Spotify in Windows 10 without having to open the app and look for it myself.

Agree Spotify - its something IOS has for Apple Music.  Its huge - would work for Windows 10 Desktop users - please add this feature!

This would fix the uselessness of cortana! Please do it! over 400 likes means that this may happen. I think netflix already does the same thing but with tv shows and movies so I know Windows 10 is capable.

Its not a spotify issue more of a windows issue. The cortana key words like, "pause track", "next track", "shuffle music" work in spotify once you have started playing music, as for searching functionality. Once cortana hears a long string of words she relies on bing searchtool to help you and thats the only problem I have with it ATM. Really hope windows makes Cortana more versitile. Wouldn't be hard, just a longer step process. [Listen for "Hey!, Cortana] + [action (play, search for, open) {if unmentioned, then present possible actions to proceed with current operation string}] + [object identifier (file name or subject of interest){if unmentioned, then ignore}] + [application to run object. {If unmentioned, then use default program for file extention.}].

Ive tried countless reiterations of strings for Cortana with no avail making me believe that this is a Cortana search parameter issue rather than a spotify problem.

The problem is not with cortana.

Cortana API allows to define messages like: [call cortana] + [software keyword (i.e. "Spotify")] + [passing argument (e.g. "play x song from y")].

However these messages must be implemented by the spotify team using the Cortana API. It's not even much work!

This works today with Alexa on the Amazon Echo. How hard can it be to implement for Cortana?
