[Desktop] Bring back Lyrics

Allow me to re-edit again, in premise, that thanks to all of you this idea keeps receiving votes, and I am grateful to each of you, and when I expressed this desire as an idea I was a newbie, I owe to the professionality of Marco and Toku, whom I thank again, that I became aware that this idea it’s by no means new, nor even mine but Spotify’s, yet it is properly expressed, and it is shared by enough Community members for it to be still alive, and I agree with Arcanscape that, "We really need the lyrics feature", and I just notice an excellent temporary alternative of “SpotifyLyrics” kindly programmed and provided by Mirth (fr31): (via scoobyTdog), it works very well on my Pc 🙂 and I invite you all to try it.

Whilst singing might be fun, I have another approach to lyrics and sound, which is of course not mutually exclusive, and I read the words to see if I like them as I enjoy the melody, if I see myself in the lyrics, if I share the values expressed, and this is easier by having the words at hand.

So please Spotify bring back the Lyrics Feature most elegantly -- as you did with restyling the Community -- when you find a better Lyrics Provider.

Reading and listening might be even better than karaoke, although not as fun 😉

and every member could always do both, even just singing, as a very close person in my family does, and many other people do.

Thank you for evaluating, with my warmest and most sincere Regards.

Marco, a poet at heart

Hey folks,

Thanks for your feedback on the Lyrics feature. We’ve heard you and we’re happy to announce Lyrics are here!

You can find Lyrics on Free and Premium for users across iOS and Android devices, desktop, gaming consoles, and TV.

To learn more about the roll out and how to access lyrics, view this announcement.

I really hope the Lyrics feature will come back soon. This is a very important feature for me personally and one of the main reasons I have stayed with Spotify without even considering other alternatives.
We seriously need those lyrics!!!!! Please!!!! Spotify it's nothing without the lyrics!!!!

Shutting down one service without implementing the new one... As a Software Developer, I can say this is the worst idea for a live product that widely used around the world. You're not a small company that giving service locally guys! You can, you must do better than this!

You'll lose, actually you're going to lose so much customer because of this un-planned change. I hope, you can fix or replace it ASAP.

Bring back Lyrics!!. I am hearing impaired and cannot understand the words to the songs. Before I play the songs for Zumba Kids, I need to know if the lyrics are appropriate.

You can Google the song and it will give you the lyrics.

How intelligent you are! You should have observed gravitational waves before LIGO and Virgo in your mind.

I can also Google to listen to the song I want and it will give me the song. I'm out, cancelling my Spotify subscription right away.

Yeah.. Humming is not so fun. I want to read the lyrics.

Please tell us something Spotify. This is so lame.

Excited to see this feature re-implmented!

Hey, Spotty! How about an update on the lyrics before all the faithful jump ship?

***Please help to keep this feed afloat, community.  It needs to rise to Spotify.***

Please add lyric contributor accounts to a safe list, enabling us to add lyrics.

I realize opening lyric editing options wide up will wreck havoc and chaos but, perhaps, if users request special permission they can be allowed the option to add lyrics.
I remember a few months ago when you could readily add lyrics.  I could imagine why Spotify disabled that function (abuse).

I so enjoy zoning into the lyrics as their sang, and your program is really cool for following the lyrics.  It flows very intuitively (someone should be proud)!
Maybe you were already thinking of doing this, Spotify.  Either way, count me in!  I NEED to be looking at what Mahalia Jackson is singing asap because it gives me the feels.
