Mobile App Sort and Search

Due to having a conservative bent about mobile bandwidth, I do all my music discovery, starring and playlist editing at the computer, then sync to mobile everything starred and a subset of playlists. Once truly mobile (i.e. away from WiFi, away from PC) I don't download any music. None. Zilch. The offline play is a HUGE feature to me.

So - why so hard to search for a song that's already on the iPhone?  If all I wanted was blind random shuffle, guess what I'd buy? An iPod shuffle (and I don't want one).

No sort-by-artist. No sort-by-title. I need to the ability to search within what's already on the iPhone, NOT what's on the internet.

You've made it rather difficult to find and play what I've already decided to sync-to-mobile. Please make it easy.

IMPERFECT SOLUTION!!!!

To organize a playlist by artist or alphabetically, follow these simple steps:

1. Use a computer to organize the playlist however you'd like it to appear on your device.

2. Create a new playlist.

3. Select all of the songs in the playlist you're organizing.

4. Drag the songs into the newly created playlist.

5. Delete the old, empty playlist.

6. When you feel that too many newly added songs are not arranged by artist, repeat steps 1 through 5.

I know this is annoying, but it's better than nothing.

Why has this not been fixed yet? It has been marked as "Under Construction" yet the Spotify team has done nothing. THIS SHOULD BE SIMPLE TO FIX. These are professional programmers and they cannot write some code so that we can put our songs into alphabetical order. PLEASE fix this as soon as possible, I am considering canceling my Spotify premium account for this reason alone.

I am a new user to spotify premium and this bothered me within the first few seconds of using on my iPhone.  I assumed it was a user error so I did a web search to figure out what I was doing wrong, which is what landed me here...This is very annoying, and like others have mentioned, has me considering cancelling my premium membership.  SPOTIFY PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!

It's below bad that this wasn't implemented in the first mobile version of spotify.

Words cant describe how bad it is that you haven't implemented this since april last year, when this propoal was given to you.

Keep in mind we are paying customers.

I would also like this. I would only like to sort my songs in reverse order than they were added. Scrolling to the bottom for all my new songs is a pain, but overall sorting would be nice as well.

People talking about this a year ago spotify! Whyis your app dev team sleeping. Lots of good ideas here posted. Pay someone to find them and someone to implement them. Constantly improve your app and more people will love it.

Spotify, your lack of alphabetizing a playlist in the mobile app is a HUGE miss and downright ridiculous.  What the hell happened when you guys were at your conference table discussing features to implement? IT SHOULD BE STANDARD.  GET ON WITH IT AND UPDATE THE APP ALREADY. It's pissing a lot of people off including myself.
