Mobile App Sort and Search

Due to having a conservative bent about mobile bandwidth, I do all my music discovery, starring and playlist editing at the computer, then sync to mobile everything starred and a subset of playlists. Once truly mobile (i.e. away from WiFi, away from PC) I don't download any music. None. Zilch. The offline play is a HUGE feature to me.

So - why so hard to search for a song that's already on the iPhone?  If all I wanted was blind random shuffle, guess what I'd buy? An iPod shuffle (and I don't want one).

No sort-by-artist. No sort-by-title. I need to the ability to search within what's already on the iPhone, NOT what's on the internet.

You've made it rather difficult to find and play what I've already decided to sync-to-mobile. Please make it easy.

Sorting by title is a step in the right direction I guess, but is there any reason we can't sort by artist?

Please implement this soon, Spotify must be losing customers hand over fist as a result. I'm desperately holding out to be able to sort by artist on mobile devices (as i have for years using other download websites), but am getting dangerously close to knocking it on the head, searching for every song I want to play is very tiresome. I love everything else Spotify gives me, need this sort feature soon!

It's a real simple fix. Just sort offline music by artist and album title. Bam. Done. If Spotify did this their competition would be eliminated. It's mind-boggling that they've dragged their heels to implement this feature.

Implemented for the iPad but not iPhone. It's more than a year ago since this was put under consideration, and I find it very odd that such a primal feature, a feature you find in most music players, still isn't implemented.

Works just fine on my iPhone!!! You have to edit it on your desktop, but once you do... It changes in your phone as well!!
