Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Yeah they don’t care what we paying users want. They’re too big too fail, the only thing they care about are advertisers, shareholders, their business partners e.g. record labels etc. 

This forum is just a psyop invented for people to vent into a void, you can „vote“ all you want, the most basic sensible things to add/not to add flies over their radar.

Unless suddenly 50million users cancel their subscriptions at once and refuse to return, that’s when they will start to care and slowly start to fix and improve the service, because otherwise there will be less people they can advertise to.

(Yes they even advertise to Premium users with „Recommendations“ and paid for by record labels promoted albums/artists forced on the homefeed, lots off other subtle and obvious ads plastered in various places all over the app. Smart Shuffle is just another way for record labels to promote/force their way into people’s playlists)

Again they don’t care and don’t respect the paying users.

I hate smart shuffle; it’s bad. I liked playlist radios, but those are gone. Now I rely on individual song radios, which is all good. But smart shuffle? Nope. The amount of times I’ve hit the shuffle button to turn it off, only to have it cycle and go right back to smart shuffle has brought me here to complain. I almost never do this with products haha. I just want a permanent off toggle. It’s insane I’ve been waiting the better part of a year for y’all to implement this when this is one of the top upvoted ideas. Jfc.

Pair this with lack of higher bitrate / anything beyond stereo support aaaaand yikes. Y’all are kicking yourself in the teeth for no good reason.

Can you move smart shuffle to it's own button. Having to wait for you to add and remove smart shuffle options every time I want to turn off shuffle is insane. Not to mention, I imagine there can't be that many people who use Spotify (a program that lets you build playlists) to listen to something other than what they put in their playlist. As it defeats the entire purpose of using Spotify over another service. To me, this is a feature I would never use. So, having to wait on it is an inconvenience.

At this point the free version of the mobile app for Spotify is, while not quite unusable, extremely annoying as anything you might consider a basic feature is locked behind a paywall. Spotify will not get my money and if I go to paid subscription, I'm just going to use YouTube Music. The forced Smart Shuffle has NOT given you another Premium user Spotify, but rather completely alienated me from the very thought.

Hello, on the free package, remove the limits for playing music, for example: we can play unlimited music but there will be advertisements..

If it worked as intended, that'd be one thing. On desktop, it doesn't remove the smart recommendations from the queue. It automatically turns on after a few seconds, so even if I click the shuffle button to toggle between smart shuffle and shuffle, it just leaves its extra songs in the queue and turns itself back on. It should take an intern an hour to build a setting for this, global or per-playlist. It's an unbelievably poor user experience. I just want to shuffle my personally curated playlist without anything else added to it.

The fact that Spotiify has left this as Live Idea... I don't use it. Nor do I use the Appears On or Found On pages in an artist page. Nor do I use literally ANY of these new features. Come on Spotify... if everyone in the community is ******* hating on the smart shuffle, just do what the 2100 people are complaining in the COMMUNITY... every company makes mistakes. they just need to take it in.
