Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Why does smart shuffle get to re-enable itself every time I start listening to my liked songs. I sincerely cannot stand this "feature." Please just create an option to toggle it on and off in the settings.

The "smart shuffle" has nothing to do with what the customer wants. Spotify was once a unique and smart idea.Now it is monster fed on  greed, with only one interest: to make more and more money at whatever cost. The paying customers are misused as garbage cans for unwanted music and our carefully prepared playlists are laughed at by those who work for this monster.

Want to know why this will never happen?

Because spotify wants to put SPONSORED SONGS in that smart shuffle, to sell more advertising dollars to make themselves pretty to investors.

Spotify cares more about profits than people.

Dear Spotify: Personal Playlists are personal - allow me to reiterate, they are PERSONAL PLAYLISTS - this is what users expect from their PERSONAL PLAYLIST functionality. PERSONAL PLAYLISTS are NOT invitations for you to molest them with your suggestions, reccos, algos, paid promos, etc. It's explicitly embedded in the name: PERSONAL,in Swedish PERSONLIG - NOT communal, not corporate agenda-driven. Stay out of our Personal Playlists - what don't you get about this basic concept???

It would be a great idea to add a feature where you can disable smart shuffle all together client side.

seen many who have had problems with it turning on automatically, a solution to this would client/account side "enable/disable Smart shuffle on your account",

this would help to improve the user experience.

allow those who like the feature "Smart shuffle" to keep it enabled and allow those who don't to disable it, usually a person's playlist they created are tailor made for them by themselves, it's not fun to listen to your "Heavy metal" playlist and suddenly "I'm a barbie girl" starts playing because Smart shuffle decided to recommend it.

a simple Enable/Disable feature in the settings would solve this

Why let people suggest ideas if you're going to ignore everything anyways?

I just got this amazing upgrade of queue UI. Praying that it stays forever! Hated the previous queue. Now if only we could permanently disable this annoying „Smart shuffle“ in settings. I cannot stand it.. Please Spotify let us remove/disable Smart shuffle permanently. I only want to switch between No Shuffle and Shuffle. I don’t want this third option „Smart shuffle“🤮

Posting the following on behalf of another user, because I wholeheartedly agree with his message:

The Smart Shuffle alerts blocks the bottom buttons for a solid 3 seconds.

I don’t feel like waiting for 3-6 seconds while trying to turn shuffle off. This sucks.

 

Again, please listen to your customers Spotify and let us remove and disable Smart Shuffle permanently from the apps!
