Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

My man! I was waiting months to disable that hot garbage feature. Logging out and logging back in worked on Anroid mobile for me. Ain't nobody got time for your forced algorithm time hidden into the standard shuffle button. Ffs

hi, when I turn off the smart shuffle, all of my songs from the no shuffle mode is gone in the waiting list. What i mean here is that when I turn it off, I have to go back to the playlist and choose 1 song to make that no shuffle mode reactivated, if not my songs will automatically be played in smart shuffle mode and i find this annoying. What can I do to disable smart shuffle mode ? Also I'm saying that smart shuffle mode is annoying not only because of what I just mentioned, but also because that it takes too long, like I have to wait for about 15 sec for the smart shuffle mode being turned off when i deactivate it.

Exactly!!! My main issue is, I like to create my own order within my playlist beforehand based on my current mood. So for example if I’m in my rap playlist but there’s a certain vibe I’m feeling, I’ll add a bunch of songs from my playlist to the queue that fit that specific vibe. I do this by clicking “Add to queue”, then when I think I have enough, I drag them down to the “Next from (Playlist name)” section so that they don’t disappear once they play. But now ever since this stupid Smart Shuffle BS, every time I try to form my own queue, it messes it up by automatically clearing my queue and filling it with the Smart Shuffle suggestions, sometimes even crashing the playlist itself. I can’t even order songs how I want to before hopping in the shower or something, it’s stupid asf.

Thanks so much for this workaround, the issue was successfully fixed for me. The only downside I've noticed is the feature is re-enabled upon app updates, but you can use the workaround to disable it again. Better than nothing! Thanks again, saved me many headaches!!

f*** smart shuffle !! it’s the worst feature spotify ever made ... People have been complaining for a while now !! Why is nothing happening ?!

Even if they really want to keep it in the "shuffle loop", having the ability to immediately go back to "regular shuffle" rather than waiting would be good enough for me.

I like to re-shuffle my playlist while listening, and it used to be as easy as pressing the shuffle button twice. If that was 3 quick presses, I wouldn't mind. But having to wait however many seconds (and requiring an internet connection) is frustrating every time.

Especially awful with unstable internet connection: Smart Shuffle keeps loading for soo long and you cannot reshuffle at all!
